Domestic and global cues indicate a green opening for the Nifty on Wednesday. SGX Nifty was trading at 7,972 levels, up 7.50 point at 7:43 AM. On Tuesday, market staged a spectacular comeback after a sluggish start. Nifty rallied over 100 points led mainly by largecap and banks.
Fourth quarter earnings of telecom giant Bharti Airtel and YES Bank will be closely watched today. In global markets, US stocks closed mixed with energy leading ahead of the US Federal Reserve’s crucial meeting. However, Nasdaq 100 futures fell more than a percent in after-trade on back of disappointing earnings from Apple.
In Europe, stocks closed lower due to disappointing earnings ahead of the important central bank meeting scheduled for later this week. In currencies, dollar held onto its three-week high against yen on expectations of further easing from Bank of Japan. In commodities space, oil was at its five-month high. Brent crude was trading at above USD 46 per barrel. Gold prices were above USD 1,240 an ounce.

Sensex jumps over 300 pts, Nifty strong; infra, IT, FMCG rally Hindalco, Maruti, BHEL, Tata Steel and Tata Motors are top gainers while Heri and Adani are losers in the Sensex. 
  • The Indian stock market is surging ahead with the Sensex up 344.19 points or 1.3 percent at 26023.12. The Nifty is up 109.85 points or 1.4 percent at 7964.90. About 1499 shares have advanced, 908 shares declined, and 169 shares are unchanged. Hindalco, Maruti, BHEL, Tata Steel and Tata Motors are top gainers while Hero and Adani are losers in the Sensex.
  • The Indian stock market ended on a buoyant note on Tuesday, tracking positive global cues on some better than expected results from India Inc.The Sensex ended up 328.37 points or 1.28% at 26,007.30.
  • The Nifty 50 closed at 7962.65, up 107.60 points or 1.37%. All the sectoral indices ended higher. Bank, Automobile, IT, metal and realty stocks were the prominent gainers. Power, capital goods, consumer discretionary, healthcare, FMCG and telecom stocks too moved up. Midcap and smallcap segments saw stock specific activity. The Indian stock market breadth was strong.

The Indian share market fell for third consecutive session on Monday with the Nifty breaking 7850 level intraday, reacting to weak global cues and stormy Parliament session. Oil, auto, metals, Pharma and select banking & financials weighed down.
The equity market was also volatile ahead of expiry of April Nifty derivative contracts due on Thursday. The 30-share BSE Sensex fell 159.21 points or 0.62 percent to 25678.93 and the 50-share NSE Nifty declined 44.25 points or 0.56 percent to 7855.05.
The broader markets outperformed benchmarks as the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices were down only 0.14 percent and 0.4 percent, respectively. The market breadth remained weak as about 1534 shares declined against 1079 advancing shares on Bombay Stock Exchange. Meanwhile, the new session of Parliament has begun on a stormy note.
